My approach to graphic design, compared to many other graphic designers in Fort Collins, leans towards a simplier style. I feel, for example, a logo shouldn’t be a busy illustration. A logo design should quickly convey a message and feeling, and be memorable. Afterall, when people are asked to describe a company’s logo, they often start by describing it’s simple shape, then colors.

Billboards also, in my opinion, should lean towards a simplier design. Afterall, when a potential customer is driving down I-25 at 75mph, they only have a split second to get the message. If the billboard is busy with a complex logo and lots of small words, it’s a waste of money.

Below are a few examples of graphic design projects I offer.

Logo Design

I love logo design. I like the challenge of creating a logo that conveys a message, quickly, often without the viewer knowing it. All they know is they’ve come to the right place – your place of business. To that end, my logo design style is simple, unlike other graphic designers in Fort Collins, CO. I prefer to use fewer colors, e.g. 2 or 3. I also strive to design a logo that will be timeless – one that’s not trendy or using current design trends. I don’t use clipart. I don’t steel someone else’s artwork. My logo designs are original. If these principles speak to you, contact me to discuss your logo design ideas. If you’re in or around Fort Collins, Colorado, perhaps we can meet.

I’ve designed some logos for only $500. For this price, the client had a good idea what he wanted and just wanted me to materialize his vision and give him print and website-ready versions. On the other end of the logo design spectrum, I’ve designed some logos that cost $5000 that included multiple hand-drawn sketches, multiple color variations, weeks of design process, mock-ups, etc.

Postcard Design

Postcard design is unique. The viewer has more time to view your postcard, compared to a billboard, but they still need to be captured by your message within a second or two. Otherwise, in the trash it goes. That’s why I start my postcard designs by asking myself one question: what’s the benefit to your customer/client? How will they benefit by your product or service?

If a postcard is crammed with text, that’s overwhelming to the viewer and they often throw it away. I don’t design postcards like this. If that’s the postcard design you want, there are other postcard designers in Fort Collins that can help you. On the other hand, if you want a postcard design that will help you get leads, feel free to contact me.

Website Graphics

I can also produce website graphics for you. I’ve created infographics for websites that compare products such as which roof coverings are the most energy efficient, as well as icons or symbols for websites, illustrations, and more. I also save those website graphics in today’s modern format(s), such as webp, or png is a transparent background is required. And I save the graphics I create in the appropriate dimensions for quicker website loading.

Business Card Design

I try to be different with my business card graphic design in Fort Collins, CO. That said, I also try to match the design style to that of the business I’m creating them for. For example, a business card design for a creative business, such as a jewelry designer, would have a much different style than those for a law firm. Business card shape is also something to consider. Using the law firm example, their business cards might have square corners. Versus the jewelry designer’s business cards might make more sense to use rounded corners. I consider these things and more when I’m designing your business cards.

A local business card printer I like to use is the Business Card Factory of Fort Collins. They offer quick turnaround, quality products, and personal service.

Billboard Design

Like every other marketing piece, billboard design comes with their own challenges. As mentioned above, I prefer my billboard designs to be simple because viewers are often driving by them quickly. If a billboard is full of type, a complicated logo, small type, etc. it won’t be as effective compared to one with a large and simple logo, a large easy to read website address or phone number. With billboard designs, often less is more. Large is best.
